Module 3 Management of common childhood conditions

  • You must enroll in this course to access course content.

This module includes 3 units, each with their own individual continuing education hours, and it addresses the management of a number of the more common childhood conditions which will frequently present to a family practice.

These include:

Unit One (15 CPD Hours)

  • Birth trauma
  • Childhood fever
  • Tongue-tie
  • Irritable baby syndrome
  • Dysfunctional nursing
  • Deformational Plagiocephaly
  • Benign Congenital Hypotonia

Unit Two (15 CPD Hours)

  • Neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Vestibular system dysfunction
  • Management of retained primitive reflexes

Unit Three (15 CPD Hours)

  • TMJ Dysfunction
  • Constipation
  • Bedwetting
  • Growing Pains
  • Otitis media
  • Scoliosis

The management of each specific condition is presented as a (largely) evidence-based approach. The discussion of each condition is both logical and, very importantly also very practical in terms of immediate implementation into practice. This includes discussion on adjusting techniques, home management strategies for the parents, as well as very informative handouts (which you can download and print on your own office stationary) to further educate the parents.Once again, as is the common theme throughout the entire program, the emphasis here is on the practical application of specific management strategies, to ensure the best clinical outcome is achieved for your paediatric patient.
